📋 Job Overview

As a Meat & Seafood Department Lead, you will oversee daily operations when the department manager or assistant manager is unavailable. This position requires both leadership skills and hands-on experience in meat/seafood handling.

Key Duties:

Lead department operations in line with standard practices and policies.
Train and support associates, fostering a positive team environment.
Provide exceptional customer service—assist shoppers in locating and selecting products.
Maintain accurate records of sales, shrink, and inventory.
Ensure proper sanitation, food safety, and equipment maintenance.
Oversee ordering, receiving, and stocking of meat and seafood products.
Wrap, price, weigh, and rotate merchandise with attention to detail and quality.
Support company safety standards and report any necessary repairs.

✅ Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should bring:

Strong leadership and communication skills.
Experience as a meat cutter (preferred but not required).
Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to learn multiple tasks and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
Comfort working in cooler environments (around 45°F).
Proficiency with basic computer operations for inventory and planning systems.
