As a Child Care Center Teacher, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care, education, and engagement to young children in a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate setting.
🌟 Key Responsibilities
-
Maintain professional and ethical conduct while following UH and center policies.
-
Provide daily supervision, care, and education to young children in compliance with licensing and accreditation standards.

Develop and implement individual learning plans in collaboration with families.
-
Support diversity by adjusting communication approaches for children and families of varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
-
Design welcoming, safe, and developmentally appropriate classroom environments.
-
Maintain accurate child development assessments and communicate progress with families.

Plan and implement detailed unit plans, engaging curriculum, and classroom activities.
-
Collaborate with colleagues, student employees, volunteers, and interns to ensure a positive environment.

Lift and carry children (up to 50 lbs.) as needed for safety and comfort.

Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and training sessions.
🎓 Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have:

A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development (or related field with required coursework).

At least one year of full-time professional experience in early childhood care and education.

Strong knowledge of child development, learning theories, and teaching practices.

Skills in word processing, report writing, and productivity software.

Ability to build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

Experience working with preschool-aged children in a center-based program.

Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and plan engaging activities.
✅ Desirable Qualifications

Experience in accredited childcare programs.

Background working with diverse children and families.

Team-teaching or program training experience.

Knowledge of social learning theory.

Certification in Infant/Toddler Care or Lead Teacher qualification.
