Key Responsibilities

Security Consultants at Kratos balance technical expertise, compliance knowledge, and advisory capabilities. Responsibilities include:

General

Maintain expert knowledge of the CMMC framework, assessment methodology, and evolving industry trends.
Proactively communicate progress and apply quality control to work products.
Identify opportunities to enhance current security services.

Assessor Role

Develop and maintain assessment artifacts, including Assessment Plans, Daily Checkpoint Logs, Risk Traceability Matrices, and Security Assessment Reports.
Conduct client interviews and working sessions to evaluate the adequacy of security practice implementations.
Cross-walk evidence from artifacts, demonstrations, interviews, and tests to determine maturity of security practices.

Advisor Role

Conduct discovery sessions to assess security architecture and practices.
Identify gaps and propose technical or operational remediation solutions.
Provide consultative reviews of security documentation, with recommendations for improvement.
Collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve agreement on complex security issues.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Certifications: CMMC Certified Assessor (CCA) required; preferred certifications include ISC2 CGRC/CAP, CompTIA CASP+, CompTIA Cloud+, CompTIA PenTest+, CompTIA Security+, and GIAC GSEC.
Technical Expertise: Broad IT knowledge including networks, protocols, security configuration, cryptography, and identity/access management.
Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
