We’re seeking an Area Vice President (AVP) to lead a high-performing, customer-facing sales organization and drive revenue, growth, and long-term strategic partnerships. This is a full-time leadership role with a significant impact on Teradata’s business and client success.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Industry Vice President (IVP), the AVP is accountable for:

Attaining revenue objectives, growth targets, service sales targets, and gross margin goals.

Leading sales teams including Account Executives, Solution Architects, Consulting Services, and Customer Success Managers.

Developing account and business plans, optimizing go-to-market strategies, and aligning sales support and resources.
-
Building and maintaining strong executive-level client relationships across multiple industries.

Collaborating with Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Finance, and Services teams to align customer strategies and business goals.

Providing thought leadership, coaching, and mentoring to develop a high-performing, results-driven team.
Key Responsibilities:

Set and execute winning sales strategies, manage territories, and align accounts to sales teams.

Drive Land, Adopt, Expand, Renew motions to grow new business and existing accounts.

Forecast business results, manage budgets, and optimize resource allocation.

Lead and influence cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes.

Engage with C-suite executives and navigate complex, high-stakes sales situations.
Who You Are
The ideal candidate has:

10+ years of leadership experience and a strong track record in sales management.

Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience with major account ownership.

Proven experience in technology, communications, media, energy, or entertainment sectors.

Strong executive presence, communication, and presentation skills.
-
Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop sales teams while achieving performance goals.

Strategic thinking, creativity, and a results-oriented mindset.

Comfort with travel and operating in dynamic, transformational environments.

BS, MBA, or MS in a related field (or equivalent work experience).
