What You’ll Do
As a Retail Associate at Michaels, your role will be dynamic and hands-on. Responsibilities include:
Delivering friendly and knowledgeable customer service to help shoppers find what they need
Operating the cash register and handling transactions efficiently
Participating in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram (POG) setup
Ensuring the store remains well-merchandised and in-stock
Assisting with Omni channel processes such as Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS)
Promoting Michaels’ Rewards Program and Private Label Credit Cards
Supporting safety and shrink programs while adhering to standard operating procedures
You’ll also have the opportunity to cross-train in custom framing sales and production—a great way to expand your skills and career opportunities.
Skills That Make You a Great Fit
If you have experience with:
Loading and unloading merchandise
Customer service
Cash handling
…then you’re already a strong candidate for this role. Retail or customer service experience is preferred, but Michaels values a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Michaels’ retail stores are designed for customer convenience, but team members should be prepared for:
Standing for long periods and moving throughout the store
Bending, lifting, carrying, and reaching
Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves
Some outdoor work, such as retrieving shopping carts or unloading trucks
