This position plays a key role in driving store sales and delivering an exceptional luxury shopping experience.
About the Role
As a Fine Jewelry Associate, you will help clients select beautiful jewelry pieces that symbolize love, milestones, and cherished memories. Through expert product knowledge and outstanding service, you will develop lasting customer relationships that often span generations.
You’ll work closely with a dedicated sales team in an environment that thrives on collaboration, trust, and shared success.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for meeting and exceeding sales and service goals, including:

Achieving personal weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets

Meeting Elite Service Plan attachment goals
-
Driving presale, repair, and trunk show sales
-
Promoting Belk Rewards credit card sign-ups
-
Assisting customers with Fine Jewelry selection and complimentary items
-
Building a strong clientele base using customer profile cards
-
Sending thank-you notes and contacting customers for special events and promotions
-
Handling transactions accurately and professionally
-
Completing minor jewelry repairs (watch battery replacement, link removal)

Performing diamond testing as required

Maintaining visual merchandising and departmental signage

Following strict Fine Jewelry security procedures

Replenishing and transferring merchandise properly

Coordinating customer repairs with the Repair department
-
Executing weekly priorities, inventory counts, clearance projects, and re-ticketing

Maintaining professional dress and appearance standards
-
Collaborating with associates, management, and business partners
-
Completing all required Fine Jewelry training with passing scores
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience

High School Diploma or GED (required)

Retail or sales experience (required)

Fine Jewelry experience (preferred)
Skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to operate computers and point-of-sale systems

Knowledge of diamonds (4 C’s) and gemstone types (or willingness to learn)

Attention to detail and accuracy
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to:

Stand for the duration of shifts

Bend, stoop, and lift up to 30 lbs

Perform fine hand movements for jewelry and watch repairs

Use keyboards, telephones, and computer systems regularly

Distinguish between gemstones and precious metals
Work Schedule Flexibility
Due to the needs of the Fine Jewelry Department, associates must be able to work:
