Job Overview

This position focuses on cleaning, repairing, and maintaining barges that carry bulk products. It’s a physically active, outdoor job where no two days look the same. From unloading trucks to handling barge covers and performing fiberglass repairs, you’ll contribute to daily operations that keep CGB running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in safety programs and pre-shift meetings.
Perform deckhand duties, including opening and closing barge lids.
Operate skid loaders and power tools when required.
Clean barges after unloading using hoses, shovels, or sweepers.
Load and unload trucks as needed.
Maintain accurate documentation for each task.
Assist with facility maintenance and housekeeping.
Work in compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
Skills: Basic math, ability to follow directions, problem-solving, teamwork, and strong communication.
Physical Ability: Lift up to 45 lbs, climb ladders, work at heights, and perform tasks in confined spaces or outdoors in all weather conditions.
Other: Must pass a drug screen, physical, and agility test. Employees in Louisiana must have reliable transportation to various work sites.
