🔐 Key Responsibilities

As a Security Assistant – Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of the VA Medical Center by:

Monitoring Security Systems: Track alarms, video surveillance, and facility access points
Emergency Response: Dispatch police, fire, or medical services when needed
Radio & Communication Support: Maintain contact with law enforcement units, staff, and external agencies
Operations & Reports: Maintain logs, complete incident reports, issue identification cards and keys, and update law enforcement databases
System Support: Troubleshoot and perform checks on security equipment and ensure proper functioning of dispatch technology

✅ Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet one of the following:

Experience: One year of specialized security or dispatch experience (monitoring alarms, dispatching, law enforcement support, report writing, etc.)
Education: Four years above high school level (college, technical school, or equivalent)
Combination: A mix of education and experience that meets requirements

Additional requirements:

U.S. citizenship
Background investigation and suitability clearance
Selective Service registration (for males born after 12/31/1959)
