Primary Responsibilities

As a Bakery Department Manager, you’ll play a critical role in operations, leadership, and customer satisfaction. Key duties include:

Training, coaching, and managing bakery associates
Overseeing inventory, product rotation, and merchandising
Ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met
Scheduling associates to meet both customer and production needs
Conducting performance evaluations and developing your team
Managing department finances to achieve sales and shrink goals
Using company systems for ordering, reporting, and scheduling
Maintaining strong communication with team members and store leadership

Job Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should bring:

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Strong knowledge of retail operations and merchandising

💡 Certification Requirement: Must be accredited (or able to become accredited within 90 days) as a Certified Food Safety Manager through the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or a similar organization.

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on role in a busy bakery environment. You’ll need to:

Stand/walk for most of your shift
Lift up to 30 lbs frequently and up to 40 lbs occasionally
Work in both hot and cold environments for short periods
Perform repetitive hand/arm motions while handling bakery products
