Job Responsibilities

As a Farm Worker/Animal Care Specialist, you’ll play an important role in maintaining farm safety, biosecurity, and animal welfare. Responsibilities include:

Following strict safety and biosecurity protocols
Handling and caring for animals of all ages using proper techniques
Performing daily tasks such as feeding, breeding, sorting, fostering, and vaccination
Assisting with power washing, sanitation, and housekeeping duties
Safely performing animal health procedures, including medication handling and euthanasia when required
Loading, unloading, and moving livestock weighing up to 600+ pounds
Working in varying conditions, including extreme heat, cold, odors, and noisy environments

This role requires physical strength, stamina, and the ability to adapt to demanding farm conditions.

Job Requirements

To succeed in this position, candidates must:

Be able to lift over 50 lbs repeatedly and push/pull up to 500 lbs with carts
Walk, stand, climb ladders, and work on different surfaces for long hours
Communicate effectively in English (oral and written)
Be willing to work weekends and holidays as needed
Show dependability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic
Not own or live near swine, or live with anyone who has contact with swine (biosecurity requirement)
