Position Summary: Safari Consultant

The Safari Consultant plays a central role in the planning and execution of custom and group safari bookings for African Travel, one of TTC’s luxury travel brands. From handling inquiries and producing detailed itineraries to liaising with suppliers and ensuring smooth operations, this role blends sales, operations, and customer service into one dynamic position.

Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, the Safari Consultant acts as a vital link between clients, travel advisors, suppliers, and internal teams. If you are detail-oriented, service-driven, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

As a Safari Consultant, your role will include:

Managing inbound inquiries and delivering personalized travel quotes.
Creating detailed itineraries and accurate pricing for luxury safaris using Kaptio.
Collaborating with local Destination Management Companies (DMCs) to confirm services.
Providing expert knowledge on destinations, activities, and travel logistics.
Generating invoices, processing payments, and ensuring accurate documentation.
Assisting clients with visas, inoculations, and essential travel requirements.
Following up on leads, proposals, and bookings to maintain momentum.
Handling client complaints and refund requests professionally.

Role Success Criteria

In-depth knowledge of African destinations including South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Morocco, and Egypt.
Proven ability to design and deliver customized travel experiences.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
Exceptional service orientation and resilience under pressure.

Required Experience & Skills

Minimum 3 years’ experience in the tailor-made travel industry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced computer literacy: Outlook, Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
