Position Overview: Credentials Specialist

As a Credentials Specialist, you will play a critical role in coordinating medical staff credentialing and facility-specific applications for clinicians, including Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs). Your work ensures that recruited clinicians have the proper privileges to work at TeamHealth-supported facilities and maintain compliance with regulatory and facility requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Follow the TeamHealth Coordination of Credentials Policies and Procedures

Build strong relationships with internal teams and external facility personnel to streamline credentialing processes

Collaborate with clinicians and stakeholders to facilitate new state licenses when required

Coordinate, receive, and enter clinician information accurately in credentialing software systems

Ensure all documentation is complete for contracted clinicians and submitted for initial privileges or reappointments

Track and manage the entire facility application and reappointment process

Initiate and verify malpractice coverage for clinicians

Communicate credentialing status to internal stakeholders, including onboarding, provider enrollment, recruiters, and schedulers

Maintain credentials databases to monitor and report on hospital privileges and approvals

Ensure APC and supervisory paperwork is complete and compliant with state and facility requirements

Maintain professional confidentiality and adhere to legal and ethical standards
Qualifications & Experience

Two (2) years of college coursework, preferably in business, or
-
One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a medical staff office or credentialing role

Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and persuasion skills

Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
