As a Sales Manager, you will lead sales strategy development and execution for key regional customers, driving sales growth, market penetration, and client satisfaction. This role reports to the Sr. Sales Director and focuses on achieving client and company objectives, without direct management of staff.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute short-term and long-term strategies for key customers aligned with client goals

Achieve assigned sales, distribution, and market penetration objectives within trade investment budgets

Establish and monitor MBOs (Management by Objectives) aligned with company and client priorities

Maintain proactive communication with clients, customers, and internal stakeholders, providing timely updates and recommendations

Provide accurate sales forecasts and trade investment projections through MPG’s sales management platform (BesTrax)

Analyze data from multiple sources, including POS, syndicated data (IRI), and factory shipments, to develop fact-based proposals

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful execution of strategies and maintain strong client relationships
Required Skills & Experience

Extensive experience managing large, complex retailers in the NE or Midwest markets

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify actionable insights

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a virtual work environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Nielsen/IRI data platforms

Effective project management skills, able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently

Deep knowledge of the consumer products industry, including category, brand, and retail strategies

Proven ability to listen, resolve issues, and deliver results as part of a collaborative team
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (4-year degree preferred)

Experience in both manufacturing and brokerage roles

Background in trade marketing or brand marketing
