What Is a High Tech Aide?

A High Tech Aide supports individuals with complex or high-acuity medical needs using assistive devices and structured care plans. You will work closely with medical professionals and families to deliver safe, reliable, and respectful care in a home environment.

This role requires technical caregiving skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach.

Key Responsibilities

As a High Tech Aide, your daily responsibilities will include:

🩺 Personal & Medical Care

Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):
- Bathing
- Dressing
- Grooming
- Toileting
- Positioning
Perform and assist with a prescribed bowel program
Monitor patient comfort, safety, and skin integrity

♿ Equipment & Transfers

Safely operate a Hoyer lift and other assistive devices
Assist with patient transfers using proper body mechanics
Support patient transport when needed

🧾 Documentation & Environment

Maintain a clean and organized care environment
Accurately document care provided
Report changes in patient condition to the care team

Required Skills & Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must have:

Previous experience as a:
- High Tech Aide
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Personal Care Assistant (PCA)
- Home Health Aide (HHA)
Hands-on experience with a Hoyer lift (required)
Experience assisting with bowel programs
Knowledge of home health or private duty care
Strong understanding of:
- Vital signs
- Patient transport
- Patient body mechanics
Reliable, professional, and compassionate attitude
Ability to follow detailed medical and personal care plans

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following are a plus:

CPR / First Aid Certification
Experience with complex medical or high-acuity patients
Prior home care or private duty experience
At least 1 year of caregiving experience (preferred)

Physical Requirements

This role is physically active and requires the ability to:

Assist with transfers using mechanical lifts
Stand, bend, and move throughout shifts
Perform daily caregiving tasks safely and efficiently
