Overall Job Summary

As a Team Member, you will interact with customers and fellow team members while supporting sales initiatives and daily store operations. Your primary goal is to deliver a Legendary Customer Experience by being friendly, knowledgeable, and service-oriented.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Team Members must be flexible, reliable, and adaptable, performing a variety of tasks throughout the store, including:

Customer Service & Sales

Deliver Legendary Customer Service using GURA:
- Greet the customer
- Uncover customer needs
- Recommend product solutions
- Ask to add value & Appreciate the customer
Assist customers with loading purchases
Ensure each customer has a positive and memorable shopping experience

Retail & Store Operations

Operate cash register and POS systems following cash-handling procedures
Process retail sales and cash transactions accurately
Recover and restock merchandise
Participate in freight processing
Complete plan-o-grams (merchandising, sets, and resets)
Assemble merchandise
Execute price changes and markdowns
Perform janitorial and cleaning duties

Equipment & Safety (Age-Dependent)

Operate forklift and cardboard baler (if 18+)
Use pallet jacks, hand trucks, and store equipment
Support poultry care, including sanitizing and maintaining holding tanks
Maintain a safe, productive environment for customers and team members

Required & Preferred Qualifications

Experience

No experience required
Retail experience preferred
Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is a strong plus

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not required)
Must be able to read, write, and count accurately

Preferred Skills

Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Basic computer and POS system knowledge
Strong interpersonal and ethical decision-making skills
Ability to resolve customer issues with minimal conflict

Working Conditions

Primarily indoor retail environment with moderate noise
Combination of indoor floors and outdoor lots
Shifts generally range from 4 to 8+ hours
Must follow all company safety training and guidelines

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

Lift and move merchandise up to 50 lbs
Push/pull up to 2,000 lbs with proper equipment
Stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, twist, and climb ladders frequently
Operate store equipment (register, computer, dolly, forklift, baler*)
Handle and work around birds/poultry
Complete propane dispensing certification and duties (18+ only)
