Job Overview: Lead Teacher

Key Responsibilities
Education and Curriculum:

Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that foster social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth

Guide children using positive techniques and provide counseling when needed

Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental milestones, and incidents

Prepare classroom and play areas to ensure an engaging and safe learning environment

Communicate daily activities and progress to parents through updates and bulletin boards
Interactions with Parents, Staff, and Director:

Supervise and mentor assistant teachers to ensure classroom curriculum is implemented effectively

Train new staff and familiarize them with program practices

Collaborate with director and center management on classroom and operational matters

Participate in staff training sessions, center events, and meetings
Health and Safety:

Implement emergency procedures, including fire, tornado, or medical emergencies

Administer CPR/First Aid in case of serious incidents

Maintain safe and clean classrooms and play areas

Monitor children’s interactions with equipment and learning materials
Who You Are
The ideal candidate:

Has experience working with children

Holds a high school diploma or GED

Is at least 18 years old and able to meet physical requirements such as lifting and carrying children

Can communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff

Is committed to ongoing professional development, including at least 30 hours of training per year
