Job Overview: Artisan Bread Baker (Part-Time)

💰 $18.50–$21.00 per hour + approx $2/hour tips

Schedule

🕕 8-hour shifts (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
📅 Every Saturday, Sunday & Monday
Approximately 24 hours per week, with potential to transition to full-time next year.

Key Responsibilities

As an Artisan Bread Baker, you’ll work directly with sourdough and other artisanal baked goods. Your tasks will include:

  • Operating the deck oven to bake loaves to perfection

  • Slicing and packaging bread and buns

  • Assisting with ingredient prep and organization

  • Keeping the workspace clean and orderly

  • Reporting directly to the Kitchen Leader

Required Qualifications

To succeed at Dear Grain, you should bring:

Experience

✔️ At least 1 year of commercial kitchen experience
✔️ 1–2 years of bread baking or dough handling experience (preferred)
✔️ Culinary or baking education (asset, but not required)

✔️ Physically strong — able to lift up to 50 lbs
✔️ Motivated, reliable, and punctual
✔️ Able to work independently and within a team
✔️ Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
