🛠️ Job Responsibilities
As a Chain Puller, you’ll play an essential role in lumber production operations by ensuring efficiency and quality on the production line. Key tasks include:

Pulling lumber from a moving chain and placing it in units by species, grade, length, and width.

Keeping lumber straight, stacked, and organized.
-
Pushing out lumber carts when full.
-
Operating a small chop saw for end trimming.
-
Assisting with changeovers and barcoding.
-
Supporting general cleanup duties when the chain is not running.

Maintaining a clean and safe work environment at all times.
🎓 Qualifications & Skills
To succeed in this role, candidates should have:

A high school diploma or GED.

At least 6 months of related experience (preferred, but not required for motivated candidates).

Ability to train for forklift certification.

Basic reading and writing skills to follow safety rules and operating instructions.

Willingness to work weekends and off-shifts, depending on production needs.

Physical fitness to handle the demands of the job (ability to regularly lift/move up to 100 pounds).

Strong teamwork, attention to quality, and commitment to safety.

Working as a Chain Puller is physically active and requires attention to safety. Employees must:

Stand, walk, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, and lift throughout shifts.

Work in a loud environment with moving machinery and occasional airborne particles.

Use personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, and a hard hat.
