Job Purpose

The Night Auditor is responsible for auditing, balancing, and posting daily financial transactions while also serving as the primary point of contact for guests during overnight hours. This role blends front desk operations, bookkeeping, and guest service to ensure smooth hotel operations and outstanding guest experiences.

Night Auditor Responsibilities

As a Night Auditor, your duties will include:

  • Maintaining accurate hotel financial records

  • Processing invoices, transactions, room charges, and refunds

  • Verifying that all accounts are balanced and documented

  • Completing end-of-day audit procedures

  • Checking guests in and out of the hotel

  • Processing guest payments

  • Answering phones and making reservations

  • Assigning rooms and updating guest records

  • Responding to guest requests, concerns, and complaints

  • Promoting hotel amenities and local attractions

  • Acting as the first point of contact for guest information

  • Preparing the breakfast buffet before morning staff arrival

  • Summarizing nightly operations for management
