As a Welder at the University of Arizona, you’ll be part of a highly skilled team responsible for precision welding, fabrication, and repair of metal structures and equipment across campus. From designing fixtures to supporting large-scale projects, your contribution will play a vital role in keeping over 13 million square feet of campus facilities running smoothly.
This position is perfect for candidates with strong welding skills and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
🔧 Key Responsibilities

Perform complex and precision welding using MIG, TIG, plasma, and arc welding techniques.

Fabricate, design, join, and repair metal objects, fixtures, and equipment.

Operate drill presses, grinders, lathes, saws, and various welding tools.

Analyze plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy in welding tasks.

Recommend materials and supplies as needed.

Support construction, renovation, and repair projects across campus facilities.
🎓 Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED (required).

Minimum 3 years of welding experience, or equivalent education and work experience.

Valid Arizona driver’s license in line with University Fleet Safety Policy.

Proven welding expertise with a dedication to safety and detail.
Preferred Qualification: Completion of an accredited welder’s training program.
💰 Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $22.77 – $28.46 per hour (based on experience and skills).

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
